Job Title: Commercial PlumberJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Plumber to install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in commercial buildings and construction projects. In this role, you interpret blueprints, install and replace water, sewer, and gas piping, diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, and ensure all work complies with local codes and safety standards. You work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, using a wide range of plumbing materials and tools to deliver high-quality, reliable results.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in commercial buildings and construction projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute plumbing installations.
  • Remove old cast iron piping and accurately fit and install new cast iron pipes.
  • Install and service water, sewer, and gas piping using appropriate materials and methods.
  • Perform soldering, brazing, and ProPress work with copper piping to ensure secure and leak-free connections.
  • Work with cast iron, copper, PVC, and other commercial plumbing materials as required by each project.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Ensure all plumbing work meets local plumbing codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Use plumbing tools and equipment safely and efficiently on active construction sites.
  • Collaborate with other trades and team members to coordinate project tasks and timelines.
  • Maintain a strong attendance record and arrive on site reliably with appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 lbs and perform work in various job site conditions.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience with commercial plumbing installation and service.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for plumbing layouts.
  • Hands-on experience working with cast iron piping, including removal and replacement.
  • Proficiency with copper piping, including soldering, brazing, and ProPress techniques.
  • Knowledge of local plumbing codes and safety regulations relevant to commercial projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex plumbing systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficient use of standard plumbing tools, equipment, and materials in a construction environment.
  • Reliable transportation and a strong record of punctuality and attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied job site conditions, including active construction areas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • OSHA certification is a plus.
  • Journeyman or Plumbing License preferred, where applicable.
  • Experience working with PVC piping and other common commercial plumbing materials.
  • Familiarity with ProPress systems and related fittings.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced commercial construction environments.

Work Environment

This role is based on commercial construction sites and in existing commercial buildings, where you work with materials such as cast iron, copper, and PVC using tools for soldering, brazing, and ProPress installations. You operate in a fast-paced setting that requires adherence to safety standards and local plumbing codes. Work may involve standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs, as well as performing tasks in tight spaces or varied job site conditions. Standard work attire includes appropriate workwear suitable for construction environments, along with required safety gear such as boots, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment in accordance with site regulations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Liberty, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
