Cable Technician

Pay Range: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.

Outsource is seeking a Cable Technician to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role is ideal for someone with at least a year of hands-on experience in cable installation and maintenance who is ready to take on a variety of field assignments. You'll work directly with clients to install, troubleshoot, and maintain cable and communication systems in residential and commercial settings.

JobResponsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain coaxial and fiber optic cabling systems
• Run and terminate cables in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
• Diagnose and resolve signal and connectivity issues using diagnostic tools
• Test completed installations to ensure proper signal strength and quality
• Communicate with customers to explain services performed and address questions
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, materials used, and job completion
• Follow safety protocols when working with ladders, bucket trucks, and electrical equipment

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a cable technician or in a similar field role
• Working knowledge of cable, fiber optic, and networking systems
• Familiarity with testing equipment such as signal meters and cable testers
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay range of $18.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and project requirements
