Rigger

RIGGER

Heavy Haul & Specialized Rigging | Lake Charles, Louisiana

Most people see something massive and wonder, “How are they ever going to move that?”

Riggers figure it out.

At Edwards Moving & Rigging, we specialize in moving equipment and materials that don't come with an easy button.

The work can involve massive industrial equipment, tight spaces, specialized tools, heavy machinery, and moves where planning, communication, and inches can make the difference.

It takes equipment to do that work.

It takes engineering.

But ultimately, it takes skilled people who know how to move heavy things safely.

We're looking for Riggers who want to be those people.

What You'll Do

As a Rigger at Edwards, you'll work as part of an experienced field crew responsible for lifting, moving, positioning, loading, and handling equipment and materials.

You'll:

• Attach and configure rigging used to lift, move, and position loads.
• Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other equipment as required.
• Use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Inspect rigging equipment before use to make sure it is safe and ready for the job.
• Signal and communicate with other crew members during lifting and moving operations.
• Help position equipment and materials safely and accurately.
• Perform the physical work required to execute heavy rigging projects.
• Work alongside Leadmen, Foremen, Superintendents, Operators, and other Riggers to get the job done.

This is hands-on work.

You'll climb. You'll lift. You'll carry. You'll work around heavy equipment. You'll work outdoors. And sometimes you'll finish the day dirty.

You'll also finish the day knowing you helped accomplish something most people couldn't begin to figure out how to move.

What We're Looking For

Muscle can help move something. Skill determines how it gets moved.

We're looking for people who bring:

• 1–5 years of experience in rigging, heavy rigging, crane operations, construction, heavy trucking, or a related field.
• Experience working safely around heavy equipment.
• The ability to understand and follow instructions during complex lifting and moving operations.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Respect for rigging equipment and the discipline to inspect it before use.
• The ability to recognize when something doesn't look right and speak up.
• A willingness to learn new equipment, techniques, and methods.
• The physical ability to perform demanding field work, including repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Welding experience is a plus.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who understands that there are no shortcuts when you're working around heavy loads.

Travel Is Part of the Job

Let's put this right out front:

This position travels. A lot.

Approximately 75% travel is expected because our work happens where our customers and projects are.

For some people, that's a dealbreaker.

For the right person, it's part of what makes the job interesting.

You'll see different jobsites, different projects, different equipment, and different challenges rather than reporting to the same place and doing the same thing every day.

If you want a job that keeps you close to home every night, this probably isn't the right opportunity.

If you like going where the work is, keep reading.

Why Edwards?

Because if you're going to work this hard, you might as well do work worth talking about.

At Edwards, you can expect:

• Serious equipment. You'll work around equipment and tooling most people will never have the opportunity to use.
• Hands-on experience. You learn this trade by doing it alongside people who know it.
• A skilled team around you. Heavy rigging is team work. Nobody moves the big stuff alone.
• Variety. Different projects bring different loads, equipment, locations, and challenges.
• Training and development. We provide hands-on experience for people who want to continue developing their skills.
• A career, not simply a job. Build your knowledge, prove what you can do, and create opportunities for greater responsibility.
• Work you can be proud of. When the move is complete, you'll be able to look at what your crew accomplished and say, “I helped move that.”

Think You Know Heavy?

There's a difference between lifting something heavy and knowing how to move something heavy.

A Rigger understands that difference.

You learn the equipment.

You understand the load.

You watch your clearances.

You communicate with your crew.

You pay attention when things start moving.

And when something doesn't look right, you say something.

Because when you're working with heavy loads, your crew needs to know they can trust you.

If you take pride in your trade, enjoy challenging work, don't mind traveling to where the projects are, and want to build your career in heavy haul and specialized rigging, we'd like to talk with you.

Big equipment. Big challenges. Skilled people.

Come move something extraordinary.
