Position Summary
The Warehouse Helper is responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse, ensuring technicians have the materials and equipment they need to complete service calls and projects. This position will assist with inventory management, material preparation, company van organization, material deliveries, and general jobsite support.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory
- Pull materials, parts, tools, and equipment for upcoming service calls and projects.
- Receive, organize, label, and properly store incoming materials and inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate when materials need to be reordered.
- Assist with ordering and replenishing commonly used plumbing materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and help identify shortages or overstock.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
- Organize materials so they are easy to locate and readily available to technicians.
Van Organization & Restocking
- Reorganize and maintain company service vans to ensure materials and equipment are properly stored.
- Restock vans with commonly used materials and supplies.
- Assist with van inventory checks and identify materials that need to be replenished.
- Help ensure technicians have the necessary materials and equipment before leaving for service calls.
- Maintain an organized staging area for materials being loaded into vans.
Material Staging & Delivery
- Stage materials and equipment for scheduled jobs and projects.
- Prepare materials according to work orders, job requirements, and technician requests.
- Deliver materials, parts, tools, and equipment to jobsites when needed.
- Pick up materials from suppliers or vendors as directed.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials safely.
- Verify materials before delivery to help prevent incorrect or missing items.
Jobsite Assistance
- Occasionally assist technicians on service calls, projects, or larger jobs as needed.
- Help with moving materials, equipment, and tools around the jobsite.
- Assist with basic labor tasks as directed by the technician or supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.
General Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with the office, warehouse, technicians, and supervisors.
- Respond promptly to requests for materials or job support.
- Maintain a professional and helpful attitude when interacting with employees, vendors, and customers.
- Follow company procedures for inventory, purchasing, material handling, and vehicle use.
- Safely operate company vehicles when authorized.
- Perform other warehouse, delivery, and general support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, inventory, construction, plumbing, or material-handling experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing materials and tools is a plus.
- Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload materials and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to assist wherever needed.
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle and follow company driving policies.
