Position Summary

Fripp Island Golf Club & Resort is seeking a Prep Cook to support restaurant, retail, grab-and-go, catering, and event operations through accurate bulk production, ingredient preparation, portioning, labeling, storage, and sanitation. Previous prep or professional kitchen experience is preferred, but dependable entry-level candidates with strong aptitude and willingness to learn may be considered.

Responsibilities

Complete daily prep and production lists accurately and on time.

Prepare sauces, dressings, stocks, soups, vegetables, proteins, grains, and other approved products.

Support grab-and-go, packaged-food, catering, banquet, and event production.

Portion, label, date, cool, store, and rotate products according to approved standards.

Assist with receiving, product storage, inventory counts, transfers, and waste tracking when assigned.

Follow food-safety, allergen, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures.

Clean and sanitize equipment, prep areas, floors, drains, tools, and shared workspaces, including closing duties.

Communicate shortages, quality concerns, production delays, and equipment issues promptly.

Work across trained outlets or production assignments based on seasonal and business needs.

Perform other reasonable duties related to the position, training, and operational needs.

Qualifications

Previous prep or professional kitchen experience is preferred; entry-level candidates may be considered based on reliability, aptitude, and willingness to learn.

Basic knife skills and familiarity with commercial kitchen procedures are preferred.

Ability to follow recipes, measurements, labels, instructions, and production timelines accurately.

Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment.

Food-handler certification required within 90 days of hire.

Strong organization, reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail.

No degree requirement and no fixed minimum number of years.

Schedule Expectations

Hourly, non-exempt position; full-time, part-time, or seasonal schedules may be available based on assignment.

Availability may include early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidays, peak seasonal periods, and special events.

Schedule and work location may change based on production, event, retail, and outlet needs.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive preparation work.

Ability to work safely around heat, cold, steam, sharp tools, wet floors, chemicals, and commercial kitchen equipment.

Ability to lift and move customary food, packaging, equipment, and supply loads safely, with assistance when appropriate.

Advancement Opportunity

Prep Cooks who demonstrate accuracy, reliability, safe food handling, strong organization, and growing technical capability may be cross-trained and considered for advancement to Cook as opportunities become available.
