Candidate Source is working with a distribution center in Ashland, VA to hire a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep conveyor systems, packaging equipment, and facility systems running. If you enjoy troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems and like the idea of a four-day workweek, this could be a great fit.

Shift/Hours

  • Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM

  • Four 10-hour shifts

  • Overtime approximately once a month on Monday or Tuesday from 5:30 PM–9:00 PM

  • Occasional weekend and night shift coverage as needed

  • Full-time, temp-to-hire position

Job Duties

  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems, including 480V motors and 120V/24V control systems

  • Troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment, forklifts, and building systems

  • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns

  • Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues

  • Handle general facility maintenance, including painting, drywall, light electrical, minor plumbing, lighting, and HVAC

  • Work with pressure accumulation conveyors, scanners, and checkweighers

  • Support weekend and night shift maintenance coverage when needed

Job Requirements

  • Mechanical and electrical repair experience, especially with conveyors, scanners, and checkweighers

  • Hands-on conveyor repair and maintenance experience

  • Experience with pressure accumulation conveyors and packaging equipment

  • Ability to read schematics and perform basic electrical troubleshooting

  • Experience troubleshooting conveyor systems, including 480V motors and 120V/24V control systems

  • Computer skills required; CMMS experience preferred

  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and occasionally at heights or in dusty conditions

  • Willing to work occasional weekend or night shift coverage
