Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and site property. This position performs mechanical and electrical repairs and adjustments to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently while supporting production, quality, and food safety standards.
Job Duties
- Maintain, service, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment.
- Perform general maintenance throughout the facility.
- Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and equipment adjustments.
- Complete preventative maintenance according to established schedules.
- Identify parts and components used in production machinery.
- Perform light fabrication as needed.
- Monitor equipment reliability and production scrap.
- Complete required quality checks and ensure production meets specifications.
- Enter completed work and equipment information into PICS.
- Check out all parts used through the PICS system.
- Follow all safety requirements and immediately report unsafe conditions.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including 6S, GMP, BOS, and ISO standards.
- Maintain Site Quality and Food Safety standards.
- Report food safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Attend required team meetings and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Self-motivated and flexible with job assignments.
- Strong technical and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to continuously learn through training.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.
- Walk at a moderate pace to respond to equipment and machine breakdowns.
- Lift up to 40 lbs. regularly and up to 70 lbs. with assistance.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and maneuver around machinery and equipment.
- Frequently use hands for gripping, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, and operating hand tools.
- Climb ladders, stairs, platforms, and scaffolding as needed.
- Work around machinery, conveyors, confined spaces, and elevated areas.
