Location: Florida – Field Based
Travel: Local and regional travel required as needed


Position Summary


On Time Delivery & Installation Services, LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Appliance Quality Control Inspector to ensure appliance deliveries and installations meet OTD, manufacturer, client, safety, and quality standards.

This is a field-based position responsible for inspecting completed appliance installations, reviewing installation documentation and photos, identifying deficiencies, communicating corrective actions, and monitoring contractor and installer quality performance.

The Quality Control Inspector is expected not only to identify problems but also to recognize recurring trends, help prevent repeat issues, and improve overall installation quality.

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform random and scheduled field QC inspections of appliance deliveries and installations.
  • Inspect refrigerators, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, dishwashers, microwaves, washers, dryers, hoods, and other residential and commercial appliances.
  • Verify appliances are properly installed, leveled, secured, connected, tested, and positioned according to manufacturer and client requirements.
  • Verify applicable water, drain, electrical, gas, and venting connections.
  • Confirm required installation components such as anti-tip devices, mounting brackets, drain loops, dryer venting, water connections, and electrical connections.
  • Inspect appliances and surrounding property for damage.
  • Verify floors, cabinets, countertops, walls, doors, and other property were properly protected.
  • Review required before-and-after photographs.
  • Verify model and serial numbers and ensure documentation corresponds to the correct residence or unit.
  • Verify testing documentation, completion notes, customer signatures, exceptions, and other required records.
  • Identify incomplete, unsafe, or non-compliant installations.
  • Document deficiencies with detailed notes and photographs.
  • Communicate required corrective actions to installers, contractors, supervisors, and management.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to confirm corrections have been completed.
  • Assist with punch-list inspections for multi-family and new-construction projects.
  • Assist with investigations involving customer complaints, property damage, appliance damage, leaks, and installation-related claims.
  • Identify recurring installation problems and recommend training or corrective action.
  • Coach installers and contractors on OTD procedures and manufacturer installation requirements.
  • Immediately escalate serious safety, property-damage, or compliance concerns to management.
  • Maintain accurate electronic QC inspection records.
QC Scorecard & Performance Tracking


The Quality Control Inspector will maintain and report quality performance for individual crews and contractors.

Each inspection should evaluate the following areas:

  • Installation Quality: Appliance properly installed, leveled, aligned, secured, and completed according to manufacturer requirements.
  • Testing: Appliance properly tested when utilities are available. Any inability to test must be properly documented.
  • Water & Leak Testing: Water connections checked and verified with no visible leaks.
  • Safety & Compliance: Required safety devices, electrical connections, gas connections, venting, mounting, and other applicable installation requirements completed correctly.
  • Appliance Condition: Appliance inspected for dents, scratches, missing parts, or other damage.
  • Property Protection: Floors, cabinets, countertops, walls, doors, and surrounding areas protected from damage.
  • Photo Compliance: All required photographs are clear, complete, and uploaded before leaving the job.
  • Model & Serial Verification: Correct appliance and serial information documented for the correct unit.
  • Documentation: Completion notes, exceptions, customer signatures, and required reports completed accurately.
  • Customer Experience: Professional conduct, communication, cleanliness, and completion of the customer’s installation.
  • Callback/Punch-List Performance: Track work requiring a return visit because of an installation or documentation deficiency.
QC Inspection Results


Each inspected job will receive one of the following results:

PASS – Installation and documentation meet OTD standards.

PASS WITH CORRECTION – Minor issue identified and corrected before the crew leaves the location.

FAIL – CORRECTION REQUIRED – Installation or documentation does not meet OTD standards and requires corrective action.

CRITICAL FAIL – Serious safety, property-damage, installation, or compliance issue requiring immediate escalation to management.

Contractor Performance Tracking


QC results will be tracked by installer/crew to identify:

  • Total jobs inspected
  • Total QC passes
  • QC pass percentage
  • Installation defects
  • Missing or incorrect photos
  • Missing documentation
  • Testing failures
  • Water/leak-related issues
  • Appliance damage
  • Property damage
  • Safety violations
  • Customer complaints
  • Punch-list items
  • Return trips/callbacks
  • Repeat deficiencies
  • Corrective actions completed
  • Training required
Repeated deficiencies should be escalated to management for additional training, corrective action, increased QC monitoring, or other action as appropriate.

Weekly QC Reporting


The Quality Control Inspector will provide management with a weekly QC summary showing:

  • Number of inspections completed
  • Overall QC pass rate
  • QC results by contractor/crew
  • Failed inspections
  • Critical failures
  • Most common deficiencies
  • Repeat issues
  • Callbacks and punch-list items
  • Damage or claim-related findings
  • Corrective actions completed
  • Outstanding corrective actions
  • Contractors requiring additional training
  • Recommended process improvements
Qualifications


  • Previous appliance delivery, installation, service, construction, maintenance, or QC experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of residential appliances and installation procedures.
  • Ability to identify improper or unsafe installations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to document deficiencies clearly using photographs and written reports.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, mobile applications, and electronic inspection forms.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field.
  • Professional when interacting with customers, contractors, builders, property managers, and clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel between job sites as required.
Physical Requirements


  • Ability to walk active construction and residential job sites.
  • Ability to climb stairs and inspect appliances in multi-story properties.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach behind or around appliances when necessary.
  • Ability to safely assist with repositioning appliances when required for inspection.
  • Ability to work in residential, warehouse, and active construction environments.
Compensation


$20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on appliance installation, quality-control, and field experience.

Candidates with extensive appliance installation experience, field leadership experience, manufacturer certifications, or previous quality-control experience may qualify for higher compensation.

Primary Goal of the Position


The Quality Control Inspector’s primary objective is to catch issues before they become customer complaints, callbacks, claims, or client escalations and to use inspection data to improve installer performance and overall OTD service quality.
