Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to take end-to-end ownership of an assigned value stream within a growing aerospace manufacturing operation.

This role is broader than a traditional Production Manager position. You’ll operate with a Plant Manager mentality, owning performance from raw materials through manufacturing, quality and final delivery while partnering closely with Production, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

  • Own the performance of an assigned manufacturing value stream from raw materials through finished product and delivery
  • Lead daily manufacturing operations, production teams and continuous improvement efforts
  • Establish and drive KPIs around safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity
  • Lead Lean/CI initiatives utilizing Kaizen, 6S, GEMBA, root-cause analysis and standardized work
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain and Production to solve operational issues and improve performance
  • Lead and develop supervisors, leads and production employees while maintaining a strong plant-floor presence
  • Drive improvements in processes, materials, inventory, capacity and manufacturing efficiency
  • Support broader operational planning around cost, margin, equipment and capital needs

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
  • Experience owning a manufacturing operation, department, work cell or value stream beyond just production
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement experience
  • Experience establishing and managing KPIs and operational performance metrics
  • Strong cross-functional experience with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain and Production
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive change and improve manufacturing performance
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification; Black Belt preferred
  • Experience with cost, margin, budgeting, capacity planning and/or CapEx
  • Experience managing multiple manufacturing processes or work cells
