Lead Carpenter / Job Lead

Breachway Building Co. is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter / Job Lead to run residential remodeling projects throughout Southern Rhode Island and Southeastern Connecticut.

This position is for someone who can do more than just perform carpentry work. We need someone who can take ownership of a job, keep the crew moving, communicate clearly, solve problems in the field, and make sure our projects are completed to a high standard.

Our work includes additions, kitchens, bathrooms, decks, framing, finish carpentry, windows and doors, and full residential renovations.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations on residential jobsites

Direct carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors

Read plans, layouts, and project scopes

Perform demo, framing, finish carpentry, remodeling, and general construction

Plan daily work and keep projects moving efficiently

Coordinate materials and identify shortages before they become delays

Maintain quality and cleanliness control throughout the project

Communicate job progress, questions, and issues with management

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite

Ensure work is completed safely and correctly

Represent Breachway Building Co. professionally with homeowners

What We’re Looking For

Strong residential remodeling and carpentry experience

Previous experience leading a crew or running jobs

Ability to work independently and make good field decisions

Strong understanding of residential construction and problem solving

Ability to read plans and take measurements accurately

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

Dependable, professional, and detail-oriented

Someone who takes ownership instead of waiting to be told every next step
