About the Opportunity

Kansas Pain Consultant, part of a growing regional pain management group supported by TAP Management Company LLC, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Interventional Pain Management team in Wichita.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing specialty practice where APPs work closely with Interventional Pain physicians to evaluate, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.

Previous experience as an NP or PA in pain management is strongly preferred.

Our purpose is simple: to serve people who are hurting. We provide individualized, evidence-based care focused on reducing pain, restoring function, and improving quality of life through interventional treatments, responsible medication management, rehabilitation, and patient education.

Responsibilities

  • Perform new-patient and follow-up evaluations, including detailed histories and focused physical examinations.

  • Evaluate and manage spinal pain, radiculopathy, neuropathic pain, arthritis, musculoskeletal conditions, complex regional pain syndrome, and other pain disorders.

  • Review imaging, laboratory results, prior treatment records, and prescription-monitoring information.

  • Develop individualized, multimodal treatment plans in collaboration with interventional pain physicians.

  • Evaluate and educate patients before procedures and provide post-procedure follow-up and outcome monitoring.

  • Follow established risk-mitigation protocols, including toxicology screening, prescription-monitoring review, treatment agreements, and other appropriate measures.

  • Identify medication misuse, behavioral health needs, or other clinical concerns and coordinate appropriate escalation or referral.

  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with physicians, staff, referring providers, and patients.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Kansas NP/APRN or PA license, or eligibility to obtain licensure.

  • Current national board certification.

  • Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program.

  • DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one, if required.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and patient-education skills.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Prior NP or PA experience in pain management or interventional pain management.

  • Two or more years of specialty APP experience.

  • Experience evaluating patients for spine and pain procedures and providing post-procedure care.

  • Experience with chronic pain medication management and controlled-substance protocols.

  • Familiarity with urine drug testing, prescription-monitoring programs, opioid risk assessment, and treatment agreements.

  • Experience reviewing spine and musculoskeletal imaging.

  • Competency with office-based musculoskeletal or pain procedures.
