Looking for a Dimensional Inspector.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans inspections by studying work orders, blue prints, engineering plans and drawings, materials specification drawings, reference planes and locations of surfaces.
Calculates and interprets geometric dimenstions and tolerances using mathematics, geometery and trigonometry.
Ensures that preperation, use and maintenance of the CMM meets all the customer and regulatory requirements.
Measures and examines completed parts using precision inspection equipment (E.G., CMM, Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gages, Bore Gages, Etc..)
Position and Fasten parts into fixtures.
Confer with engineering, supervisors, and manufacturing personnel, as well as regularly confer with numerical control programmers in order to assure that output will meet specifications.
Evaluate AS9100D/IATF16949 compliant procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiancy and adaptability within standards.
Maintain safe operations by adhereing to safety procedures and regulations. Also, maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following the manufacturers instructions.
Perform any and all other duties assigned by management.
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of working in an as91000 or IATF 16949 certified manufacturing organization as an inspector, machinist or machine operator.
3+ years of experience using a CMM
Knowledge of CAD (Solidworks) and CAM (Surfcam)
Understanding of geometeric dimenstioning and tolerancing.
Understanding of blue prints and specifications.
Understanding of the use of basic measuring, inspection, and test equipment (as listed above).
Strong computer literacy.
Occasional flexibility with schedule to meet business demands.
Willingness to work in a foundry type environment.
Able to spend prolonged periods walking, standing, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, stooping and moving during working hours.
