Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

The Production Machine Operator plays a key role in a small, fast-paced manufacturing environment by supporting multiple departments with machine operation, product packaging, labeling, and batch making. This position works closely with the production team to ensure accurate measurements, proper use of presses and tools, and consistent quality of finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Operate basic production machines, including loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize a press to support the manufacturing of pads and other related products.
  • Assist with batch making processes, including measuring and mixing materials with strong attention to detail.
  • Accurately label products according to specifications and production requirements.
  • Package finished products in a clean and organized manner to meet quality and productivity standards.
  • Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and rulers to verify dimensions and ensure product accuracy.
  • Work with colors and materials as required, maintaining consistency and quality in production output.
  • Multitask between different departments, including plating and pad production, as production needs change.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow all safety and operational procedures.
  • Keep up with the pace of the production floor while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and support a positive team environment.

Essential Skills

  • Strong math skills to perform accurate measurements and basic calculations.
  • Ability to operate basic machines, including loading and unloading materials.
  • Experience using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and rulers.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production equipment.
  • Attention to detail in labeling, packaging, and measuring products.
  • Ability to work with colors and materials as part of the production process.
  • Capability to multitask across different production departments.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production or assembly environments.
  • Prior machine operating experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep pace in a fast-moving production environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Reliability and willingness to learn new tasks and processes on the production floor.

Work Environment

This role is based in a small production environment with approximately 20 people working on the production floor. The facility is clean and organized, with work divided into two main production functions: plating and pads. The position requires standing for up to 8 hours per day and keeping up with a steady production pace. You will regularly work with presses, basic machines, measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and rulers, and various production materials and colors, all within a team-oriented setting focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Danvers, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
