Description:

The United Aero Group MRO Internship Program provides local aviation students with hands-on experience within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, while identifying key talent. Interns will rotate through listed departments, work alongside experienced aviation professionals, and learn how each area supports the overall aircraft maintenance process.

Core Training

Interns will receive training and hands-on exposure in:

Safety & Compliance

  • FAA Part 145 and company requirements
  • Safety, human factors, and FOD prevention
  • OSHA fundamentals
  • Quality, documentation, and traceability
  • Export control awareness

MRO Operations

  • Aircraft maintenance and repair processes
  • Work orders and technical documentation
  • Inspection and quality processes
  • Production planning and workflow
  • Parts and material coordination
  • Turnaround time and operational priorities

Systems & Tools

  • Quantum ERP
  • Microsoft Office
  • Technical publications and maintenance records
  • Department-specific tools and equipment

Department Rotations

Interns may rotate through:

  • Paint Shop
  • Back Shop
  • Aircraft Mechanics
  • Avionics
  • Sheet Metal
Requirements:

Qualifications:

· Student currently enrolled in ESCC with A license or more or graduated no later than 2 years from internship start date.

- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate preferred.

· 0-1 years of rotor-wing aircraft maintenance experience.

· Experience on UH-60 and/or UH-1 platforms strongly preferred (military or civilian).

- Strong verbal and written communication

- Critical thinking and problem-solving

- Collaboration and interpersonal skills

- Time management and task prioritization

- Ability to work as a team

Requirements: (Junior and Senior level, A level working on P Certificate) currently enrolled in ESCC community college or graduated within 2 years of internship start.

- Compensated at $17/hr, non-benefits eligible (NO PTO, Holiday, Other Company Benefits).

- Must be able to work a set schedule of 7:00am-2:00p, less than 30 hours per week.

- Program start date is first week in May 2027

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods.

- Visual acuity to detect cracks, corrosion, or wear

- Manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment

- Must pass an initial and reoccurring fit for duty exam
