The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist supports cardiac catheterization procedures at Exeter Hospital on a day shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM for a 13-week assignment. This role operates diagnostic imaging equipment, scrubs to assist cardiologists and vascular surgeons, performs hemodynamic monitoring, documents procedures in Epic, and provides shared on-call coverage for the 24/7 cath lab. The schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with 10–11 call shifts per month, including rotating weekends.
Responsibilities
- Operate diagnostic imaging equipment during cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Perform scrub technologist functions to support cardiologists and vascular surgeons.
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring throughout procedures.
- Document procedures accurately during each case using Epic.
- Apply sterile technique during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
- Provide shared on-call coverage for the 24/7 cardiac catheterization laboratory, including rotating weekends.
- Use clinical judgment and collaborate with the care team throughout procedures.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of cardiac catheterization laboratory technology experience.
- Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or a related field.
- MIRT license.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures and invasive cardiovascular technology.
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic imaging equipment.
- Proficiency in sterile technique and procedure documentation.
- Epic electronic health record experience.
- Strong clinical judgment and team collaboration skills.
