We're hiring Fiber Splicers to support fiber optic installation, testing, and network deployment projects. This role is ideal for candidates with fiber splicing experience who enjoy working hands-on with cutting-edge telecommunications infrastructure in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform fusion splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables
  • Install, route, organize, and terminate fiber optic cables and related infrastructure
  • Build and organize splice trays, enclosures, cabinets, and fiber distribution equipment
  • Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, OLTS, power meters, and other testing equipment
  • Troubleshoot signal loss, damaged fibers, and connectivity issues
  • Read and interpret fiber schematics, splice diagrams, blueprints, and construction drawings
  • Maintain accurate splice records, test reports, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with project teams to complete work safely, efficiently, and on schedule
  • Inspect and maintain tools, vehicles, and testing equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards
Requirements
  • Fiber optic splicing and termination experience
  • Experience using OTDR, OLTS, power meters, and fiber testing equipment
  • Ability to read fiber schematics, splice diagrams, and construction drawings
  • Experience troubleshooting fiber optic networks and connectivity issues
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and job site best practices
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ years of fiber splicing experience
  • Data center, telecommunications, or outside plant experience
  • Ribbon fiber and high-count fiber splicing
  • Fiber certification and quality assurance testing
  • Construction, telecommunications, or utility industry experience
  • Experience maintaining as-built drawings and project documentation

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
