American Excelsior Company is actively seeking a Blanket Machine Operator to join our Erosion Control Division (ESD) team. Key Responsibilities
- Operate blanket machine; ensure blanket machine (counter presser) is continuously producing product to specification as laid out in work orders & reference documents
- Load raw materials onto blanket machine including string, net, and stretch wrap
- Responsible for ensuring blanket roll bundles are packaged to specification as laid out in work orders & reference documents
- Dispose of out-of-specification blanket rolls, string cores & bags, stretch wrap cores, pallets, and other trash within the blanket machine working areas
- Clean, sweep and organize around work area, including on top of machines in accumulation areas, and disposing of loose trash and scrap to make sure machines can efficiently run
- Direct operators and packagers on machine in activities as needed to ensure successful completion of above activities
- Participates in daily 5S cleaning procedures of production floor
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Preference for 1+ years manufacturing experience operating basic hand tools and equipment preferred
- Technical and mechanical knowledge preferred
- Reasoning ability to apply common sense to carry out simple multi-step instructions
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, and stand & walk on concrete floors for up to 10+ hour shift
