The Store Planner is responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive construction documents for both new and existing retail locations using AutoCAD. This role works closely with a collaborative planning team to support store development, renovations, and interior updates across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate architectural and interior design concepts into clear technical plans. This position operates within a professional corporate environment and partners closely with both on-site team members and remote leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed construction documents and store plans for new builds, remodels, and existing retail locations using AutoCAD.
  • Develop accurate floor plans, layouts, and technical drawings based on architectural and interior design standards.
  • Interpret design concepts and project requirements to create clear, precise construction documentation.
  • Maintain and track project plans, drawings, and documentation using Microsoft Excel and other internal systems.
  • Collaborate with store planning team members to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
  • Partner with architects, designers, and project stakeholders to support project execution and store development initiatives.
  • Coordinate with remote leadership regarding project priorities, revisions, and approvals.
  • Revise and update drawings based on design modifications, field feedback, and changing project requirements.
  • Ensure all construction documents comply with corporate standards, drafting practices, and project specifications.
  • Assist with space planning, store layout development, and interior planning efforts as needed.
  • Organize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to create and modify construction documents independently.
  • Strong understanding of drafting principles, construction documentation, and technical drawing practices.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and interior design concepts and translate them into detailed plans.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to organize, track, and manage project information.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work within a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
  • Six months or more of drafting experience through coursework, internships, co-ops, or professional experience.
  • Experience supporting retail, commercial, or interior space planning projects.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation or other CAD platforms is a plus.
  • Understanding of construction, architectural, and interior design processes.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to company standards, processes, and project requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify practical design solutions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of MENOMONEE FALLS, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
