Material Handler II Position Summary

The Material Handler II is responsible for supporting warehouse and logistics operations through the safe handling, movement, storage, and shipment of materials. This role requires experience operating powered industrial equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, processing inbound and outbound shipments, and utilizing warehouse management systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Shift Options

A Shift

  • Sunday through Tuesday and every other Saturday
  • 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM

B Shift

  • Wednesday through Friday and every other Saturday
  • 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts, including reach trucks and powered dock stockers, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Receive, unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against delivery documentation.
  • Accurately record and report discrepancies, damages, or shortages using warehouse management systems.
  • Move, store, and organize inventory within warehouse locations.
  • Perform cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy through counting, recording, recounting, and data entry.
  • Monitor inventory condition and document damaged or defective materials.
  • Pick, pack, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
  • Process shipments and coordinate handoff of packages to carriers.
  • Track inventory movement from receipt through shipment using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
  • Enter and maintain accurate transaction records in SAP and other warehouse management systems.
  • Assist internal customers by delivering and receiving materials as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and departmental process enhancements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies and 7S standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to achieve operational objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience operating forklifts, including reach trucks and dock stockers.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • RF scanner experience required.
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
  • Ability to accurately maintain inventory records and documentation.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Prior experience in inventory control, shipping, receiving, and material handling operations.
  • Knowledge of warehouse best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
