The Construction Superintendent oversees day-to-day construction activities on federal and commercial projects, coordinating closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, vendors, and the Government Contracting Official/Owner. This role ensures that manpower, materials, and equipment are properly planned and deployed, that all work complies with contract documents, safety standards, and quality/security requirements, and that the construction schedule and budget remain on track. The superintendent plays a key role in maximizing productivity, minimizing disruptions and downtime, and maintaining clear communication among all project stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesThis position is primarily based on site at a federal installation associated with NIWC in the Charleston area. The superintendent works in an active construction environment, spending most of the time in the field overseeing crews, inspecting work, and coordinating daily activities. The work involves collaboration with office-based project staff and may include visits to both on-base and nearby off-base office locations as the team expands. Projects span federal facilities and commercial sites, with a strong pipeline of ongoing and upcoming work, providing a dynamic and growth-oriented environment. The role requires adherence to all site-specific safety, security, and access protocols typical of federal installations, as well as professional attire appropriate for a construction management setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
