Production Operator

Job Description

This role operates and sets up plastic extrusion machinery to produce high-quality materials according to precise specifications. The Extrusion Machine Operator loads raw plastic rolls using a stand-up forklift, monitors machine performance, performs quality checks, and maintains accurate production records in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

A Shift (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Every Other Sunday, 6:45AM to 7PM)

B Shift (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Every Other Sunday, 6:45PM to 7AM)

C Shift (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Every Other Sunday, 6:45AM to 7PM)

D Shift (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Every Other Sunday, 6:45PM to 7AM)

Responsibilities

• Load rolls of raw plastic material into industrial extrusion machinery using a stand-up forklift.
• Assist with machine start-up and shutdown procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Support product changeovers and material changes by following established setup and adjustment guidelines.
• Set up plastic extrusion machinery according to production specifications and work instructions.
• Monitor machine performance throughout the shift and promptly notify operators of any process or equipment issues.
• Make necessary adjustments to extrusion machinery to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
• Perform regular quality checks using gauges, calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and visual inspections to confirm products meet specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and measurement data to ensure accurate setup and output.
• Record production data, quality results, and downtime information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Troubleshoot basic machine issues and support maintenance activities as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to support safety and product quality.
• Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures while operating machinery and material handling equipment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean, well-lit, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will work around industrial plastic extrusion machinery and related production equipment, regularly using a stand-up forklift and precision measuring tools such as gauges, calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to established procedures, with multiple shifts available to support different scheduling needs.

This is a Permanent position based out of Richmond, IN.

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
