SCALE CLERK – $16.00/HOUR
Driver Sourceis currently hiring a dependable and detail-orientedScale Clerkto join our client’s team.
Pay:$16.00/hour
Pay Increase:$17.00/hour after 30 days based on good attendance, performance, and ability to learn the position
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM(Mandatory)
Job Duties:
- Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks and materials
- Accurately record weights and transaction information
- Enter information into computer systems
- Prepare weight tickets, receipts, and other documentation
- Verify customer, vendor, vehicle, and material information
- Communicate with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal personnel
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers and vendors
- Perform basic addition and subtraction
- Maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies
- Keep the scale house and work area clean and organized
- Follow all company safety and environmental procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong attendance and dependability are a must
- Basic computer and data-entry skills
- Must be comfortable with basic addition and subtraction
- Applicants will complete a basic math test; this isnot advanced math
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service experience is required
- Must be neat, clean, and presentable; jeans are acceptable
- Ability to work independently and stay organized in a busy environment
- Bilingual skills are preferred butnot required
- Previous experience with truck scales, recycling, scrap metal, logistics, or industrial operations is helpful but not required
