This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute your pharmacy expertise within a home infusion setting, focusing on patient-centered care and sterile compounding. The position supports patients by ensuring safe medication dispensing, thorough counseling, and collaborative healthcare practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage concerns.
  • Ensure medication supply complies with legal standards.
  • Verify the suitability of prescribed medicines for patients.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient and pharmacy records.
  • Advise patients on medication administration, side effects, and answer inquiries.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and OTC drugs, including storage and interactions.
  • Support patients with services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for internal and external use, including preparing sterile admixtures.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Active Arkansas pharmacy license required.
  • Proven experience in sterile compounding.
  • Previous experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy.
  • CPR certification and experience highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and patient counseling.
  • Skilled in using pharmacy computer systems (CPR+ preferred).

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM
  • Rotating every third weekend
  • Contract to hire; initial 13-week assignment
