Job Description

Job Description
LOPCO Contracting
Full-Time | Rhode Island & Massachusetts
LOPCO Contracting is looking for an experienced Finish Carpenter to join our team as a full-time, in-house carpenter.
We have an abundance of residential projects currently lined up and are looking for a skilled, dependable carpenter who takes pride in their craftsmanship and wants consistent, full-time work as part of an established team.
While the construction industry naturally experiences some seasonal fluctuations, LOPCO maintains a strong pipeline of work throughout the year, including during the traditional off-season. Our goal is to bring on someone who is looking for stability, steady work, and a long-term home with our company.
What You’ll Be Doing
The Finish Carpenter will work across a variety of residential construction, remodeling, repair, and improvement projects throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Interior and exterior finish carpentry
  • Installing interior and exterior trim
  • Baseboards, crown molding, window and door casing
  • Installing and repairing doors and windows
  • Cabinetry and built-ins
  • Deck and exterior woodwork
  • Siding and exterior trim repairs
  • General residential carpentry and repairs
  • Punch-list and finishing work
  • Working independently or alongside other LOPCO team members and subcontractors
  • Reading measurements, project scopes, and job specifications accurately
  • Identifying potential issues and communicating them to the appropriate team member
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
  • Completing work efficiently without sacrificing quality
  • Treating clients’ homes and properties with care and respect
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a skilled carpenter not an entry-level apprentice who is confident working independently and producing high-quality finished work.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Professional finish carpentry experience
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction and remodeling
  • Experience with both interior and exterior carpentry
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong measuring, cutting, installation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to independently complete assigned projects and scopes of work
  • Ability to assess a project and determine the appropriate approach
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Dependability and consistent attendance
  • Professional communication skills
  • Respect for clients, coworkers, subcontractors, and jobsite standards
  • Pride in the quality of their finished product
Having your own standard carpentry tools is strongly preferred.
The Kind of Person We’re Looking For
Skill matters, but so does how you show up.
We want someone who is personable, particular, and professional someone who notices the details, takes ownership of their work, communicates when something doesn’t look right, and doesn’t consider a project finished until the work is done properly.
We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of the team rather than simply move from job to job.
Why LOPCO?
LOPCO has a strong pipeline of residential projects and an ongoing need for skilled carpentry work. This is a full-time, in-house position, not a temporary project or short-term subcontracting opportunity.
Construction naturally has busier and slower seasons, but we have enough work lined up to continue keeping our team active even during the traditionally slower months.
If you’re an experienced carpenter who takes pride in your craft and is looking for consistent work with a company that values quality, professionalism, and great people, we’d like to hear from you.
