Job Description
  • Provide the following support to assembly processes
    • Create and update work instructions
    • Develop and maintain Process Flows and PFMEA;s
    • Make process improvements for safety/ergonomics, cost, quality, and delivery
    • Perform capacity planning and time studies for production efficiency
  • Perform root cause analysis of quality problems and implement long term corrective actions using the 8D methodology
  • Implement error proofing and product testing to eliminate quality defects
  • Develop manufacturing/assembly processes and support the design and installation of equipment to meet safety /ergonomics, cost, quality, and delivery goals
  • Manage projects and maintain time schedules for process improvement and capital projects according to MLNA project management procedures and guidelines
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to achieve common goals related to assembly processes
  • Support continuous improvement processes to improve process capability, reduce equipment down time, and increase throughput
  • Process Engineering Change Notices to ensure products meet all requirements
  • Implement Process Change Requests to improve assembly processes
  • Evaluate and implement changes related to employee suggestions
  • Perform internal audits and write audit reports on company processes
  • Maintain metrics for manufacturing engineering processes
  • Assist manufacturing management with duties as assigned
  • Provide technical support to other departments
  • Other reasonable duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of typical industry tooling and manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with AIAG engineering documentation and practices
  • Must be able to create and clearly present technical data, in a variety of environments (customer, internal, supplier, etc.)
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience (preferred)
  • Ability to design simple workstations, flow racks, etc. (preferred)
