Job Description
We are looking for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is responsible for guiding the close process, maintaining accurate financial reporting, and strengthening controls that support compliance and sound decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capability, and a hands-on approach to improving processes across a dynamic finance environment.
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting activities and help shape an effective team structure aligned with departmental priorities and company objectives.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely completion of financial statements and related reporting requirements.
• Manage accounting workflows across key transaction cycles, including revenue, purchasing, payables, payroll, and other shared services functions.
• Oversee reconciliations for general ledger accounts and internal orders, resolving discrepancies and maintaining the integrity of financial records.
• Monitor accounting policies and internal controls to promote compliance, reduce risk, and support accurate financial results.
• Prepare and review accruals, journal entries, and variance analyses related to operating activity, budgets, and partner-related transactions.
• Evaluate accounts receivable, distributor billbacks, pricing activity, and spending trends to identify issues and recommend process improvements.
• Support external audit activities, regulatory filings, and state and local reporting obligations, including alcohol-related compliance requirements.
• Develop financial analyses, reporting models, and other ad hoc insights to help leadership assess performance and make informed decisions.• Demonstrated experience managing month-end and year-end close in a corporate accounting environment.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Background supporting or leading financial statement audits and responding to external audit requests.
• Ability to analyze variances, interpret accounting metrics, and communicate findings clearly to leadership.
• Experience overseeing accounts payable, receivables, accruals, payroll, or other shared accounting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build models, organize data, and perform ad hoc financial analysis.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff, prioritize deadlines, and improve accounting procedures.
