Brake Press OperatorAvailable Shifts
  • 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Additional overtime opportunities are available, including one hour after scheduled shifts and every other Saturday based on production needs.

What You'll Do

As a Brake Press Operator, you'll play a key role in producing precision metal components that meet strict quality and customer standards.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate brake press equipment and other manufacturing machinery.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production specifications.
  • Select tooling and adjust machine settings to ensure accurate production.
  • Measure and inspect parts using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Verify products meet quality standards and required tolerances.
  • Perform routine quality checks and accurately document inspection results.
  • Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Enter production and quality information into computer systems.
  • Follow lockout/tagout and all safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of brake press, press brake, or related heavy manufacturing equipment experience.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating sit-down forklifts.
  • Experience using overhead cranes.
  • Previous experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal manufacturing, or industrial production.
  • Basic computer skills for production reporting and quality documentation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hobart, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
