Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of behavioral support experience required
  • High school diploma or GED mandatory
  • Completion of a RIDE-approved Teacher Assistant Training Program (unless exempted by higher education)
  • Fulfill at least one of the following:
    • ParaPathways Assessment scores: 332+ Reading/Writing and 334+ Math
    • 48+ completed college credits from an accredited institution
    • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Preference for candidates with a completed National BCI for quick onboarding

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group behavioral and academic support, primarily to elementary students
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement individual education and behavior intervention plans
  • Support social, emotional, and academic development of students within classroom or resource settings
  • Document progress, observations, and behavioral responses according to school and district guidelines
  • Adapt and respond to student needs under the guidance of certified staff
