Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential support to residents and nursing staff in a long-term care facility. The CNA assists residents with activities of daily living, promotes safety and comfort, supports medication-related activities as permitted by certification, and provides social and emotional support to enhance resident well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating and mobility.
- Support nursing staff with resident care and transportation.
- Provide medication assistance as permitted by applicable training and delegation.
- Perform routine safety checks and monitor residents' well-being.
- Offer social and emotional support to residents.
- Observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental condition to nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility policies.
- Follow infection prevention, safety and resident care procedures.
- Participate in required training and facility orientation.
Requirements
- Current, active Washington State CNA license in good standing.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Nurse Delegation certification for nursing assistants.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Three professional references.
- Willingness to complete required background checks, N95 mask fitting and TB testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous long-term care experience.
- Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) electronic medical records.
- Previous medication-passing experience.
