Lancaster, PA-based business founded in 1949 seeks a full-time in-office professional for its financial operations. The candidate will collaborate with the Controller to produce financial reports, facilitate payables and receivables, maintain inventory recordkeeping, and perform credit department tasks. This role also works in concert with outside vendors to manage the firm's IT system, including an ongoing software upgrade project.

After performing successfully for 18 to 24 months, the candidate is expected to assume the Controller position. In addition to daily accounting responsibilities, the Controller oversees financial reporting, manages staff, and interacts with outside parties including bankers, accountants, vendors, customers, and software providers. The position also works closely with ownership on matters of strategy and decision-making.

The candidate must possess strong accounting skills, sound business judgment, and good people skills. Trustworthiness and integrity are of the utmost importance. An accounting degree or completion of accounting coursework is required. An ideal candidate has worked at an accounting firm or in a business' finance department.

Responsibilities include:

- Prepare and produce financial statements

- Create monthly commission reports

- Consult with banks, vendors, and suppliers

- Manage credit risks and terms

- Manage inventory across outside cold storage facilities

- Oversee office staff of four, including future hiring

- Interact and coordinate with salespeople across the country

- Identify areas for improvement and facilitate improvements to software.

Skill set includes:
