  • Lead conceptual and detailed design of new power conversion products topology trade studies, magnetics design, worst case circuit analysis (WCCA), component derating, and thermal/shock/vibration analyses
  • Approve qualification test plans, qualification test procedures and reports, and own the engineeringto-manufacturing transition for new designs, ensuring Design for Excellence (DFX) principles, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT) are incorporated into productdesigns prior to production release
  • Own root cause corrective action (RCCA) for test failures and field returns using structured techniques such as fishbone (Ishikawa) analysis and fault tree analysis (FTA); recommend and implement product improvements for existing designs, and drive corrective actions to verified closure
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve engineering processes, standards, and procedures to improve engineering quality, efficiency, and product development execution
  • Own the sustaining engineering work response to field issues, engineering support for in-production units, component obsolescence management, drawing revisions, and derivative design activity and balance sustaining load against new product development to hold both to committed dates
  • Personally manage select small projects and internal engineering initiatives end-to-end scope, schedule, resource plan, milestone tracking, and stakeholder communication where dedicated program management is not warranted
  • Lead development of technical content of proposals and RFP responses for new business pursuits, including system description, requirements compliance matrices, qualification approach, technical risk discussion, work estimates, and basis of estimate

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 6+ years of power electronic design experience.
  • Experience with schematic design
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cranford, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $76.00 - $80.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
