Building Engineer / Maintenance Technician

Commercial Building in Fort Lee, NJ | Full-time

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on building engineer to keep our commercial building running safely and efficiently. You will be the go-to person on site for daily maintenance and repairs, and the person our tenants count on when something needs fixing.

What You'll Do

• Inspect HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and sprinkler systems daily

• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, and electrical problems

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance to avoid downtime

• Handle carpentry, drywall patching, painting, flooring, and fixture mounting with a clean, professional finish

• Coordinate with outside contractors on major repairs and upgrades

• Respond to tenant requests promptly and courteously

• Keep the building safe, secure, and compliant with OSHA and safety codes

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance

• Solid working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and sprinkler systems

• Skill with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

• Someone reliable and organized who can work independently

• Good communication with tenants, contractors, and management

• Ability to lift [50 lbs], climb ladders, and work on your feet

• [Valid driver's license; HVAC or EPA 608 certification a plus]
