Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator for landfill construction and cell development projects. This role involves operating CAT D6 dozers and production excavators, performing grading, earthmoving, material placement, and landfill cell construction using Trimble GPS technology.

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT D6 dozers and production excavators.
• Perform grading, earthmoving, and material placement.
• Engage in landfill cell construction utilizing Trimble GPS technology.
• Work independently while maintaining production and safety standards.
• Read grade stakes, plans, and machine control displays.
• Maintain slope tolerances and operate on steep grades.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Experience in landfill, earthwork, or heavy civil construction.
• Ability to perform cut/fill, grading, and earthmoving operations.
• Strong safety awareness and reliability.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with GPS systems, especially Trimble.
• Experience operating CAT equipment preferred.
• Ability to read grades and site plans.

Work Environment

Work in an outdoor landfill and heavy civil construction environment, often requiring travel. Engage in a five-day work week with overtime available. Expect exposure to varying weather conditions and terrain. The company provides hard hats and safety vests, while employees must provide steel-toe boots, work pants, and T-shirts

This is a Contract position based out of Wheeling, WV.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Wheeling,WV.
