JOIN OUR MISSION:
As we continue to expand our operations, we're searching for a skilled Shift Operations Supervisor to join our team.
YOUR ROLE:
The Shift Operations Supervisor provides front-line operational leadership for the assigned shift and is responsible for safe, reliable, and disciplined execution of data center operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Direct all operational activities, staffing assignments, priorities, and work schedules during the assigned shift; coordinate the activities of department supervisors and ensure departments are appropriately staffed and operating efficiently in alignment with departmental goals.
• Ensure continuous monitoring of critical infrastructure, alarms, environmental conditions, customer-impacting systems, active work, and operational risks; respond to abnormal conditions, incidents, and emergencies by stabilizing conditions, executing applicable EOPs, initiating required notifications, and maintaining event timelines until relieved.
• Conduct effective shift turnover and maintain accurate operational, production, employee, and work records, including logs, reports, open work, active risks, impairments, customer commitments, equipment conditions, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate and oversee approved preventive, corrective, vendor, project, and customer-requested work; ensure work is properly planned and that personnel qualifications, work packages, SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, JHAs, permits, LOTO requirements, PPE, tools, materials, work boundaries, and hold points are verified before work begins.
• Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions, unapproved deviations, inadequate controls, or unacceptable operational risks are identified, and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate vendor access, site orientation, pre-job briefings, escorts, work boundaries, and field compliance; verify vendor attendance, work completion, materials used, equipment restoration, and supporting information required for CMMS updates and invoice validation.
• Ensure technicians and supervisors provide accurate CMMS updates, completion notes, equipment condition information, production records, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct coaching, OJT, task observations, field verification, and performance evaluations; establish performance goals and criteria with supervisors, document employee performance, address immediate conduct, attendance, and performance concerns, and coordinate with Human Resources on employee concerns, complaints, discipline, and terminations in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure assigned departments have appropriate staffing, assist supervisors with schedule development, and support preparation and management of departmental budgets.
• Report hazards, near misses, incidents, releases, and improvement opportunities through approved EHS, incident-reporting, and SCORE processes; support investigations, corrective actions, drills, audits, readiness activities, and other operational improvement initiatives.
• Maintain professional communication and effective working relationships with customers, vendors, the Technical Account Manager, campus leadership, Human Resources, and other stakeholders in accordance with approved communication protocols.
• Ensures team can fulfill Service Level Agreement requirements and respond in the appropriate time to calls or service requests in order cure any problems.
• Perform other related duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• 5+ years of experience in data center, critical facilities, industrial operations, or a related high-availability environment, including lead or supervisory experience.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, fire/life-safety, monitoring, and emergency systems.
• Demonstrated ability to direct personnel, prioritize work, maintain operational discipline, and respond effectively during high-pressure events.
• Experience using CMMS, alarm-monitoring, ticketing, and operational reporting systems.
• Knowledge of JHA, LOTO, change control, SOP/MOP/EOP execution, vendor work control, and customer notification requirements.
• Ability to coach employees, document performance, support evaluations, and provide clear shift turnover.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, nights, holidays, and on-call assignments as required.
