Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Extrusion Technician II to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role is responsible for machine setup, extrusion support, secondary operations, process monitoring, quality verification, and troubleshooting within the Extrusion Department. The ideal candidate will have extrusion manufacturing experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Set up and operate extrusion-related secondary equipment, including:
  • Mills
  • Cut-to-length equipment
  • Spoolers
  • Post-cure ovens
  • Assist with machine setups and production runs within the Extrusion Department.
  • Monitor production output to ensure quality standards and production rates are achieved.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting and process adjustments to maintain optimal equipment performance.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and process documentation.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment, including scales, calipers, comparators, and other inspection tools to verify product specifications.
  • Complete required in-process quality inspections and documentation at scheduled intervals.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Use the IQMS system for production tracking and electronic documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area following 5S principles.
  • Collaborate with team members and support a positive workplace culture.
  • Comply with all company quality standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in positions with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of extrusion manufacturing processes; direct extrusion experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to make sound, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to use computers for data entry, production tracking, job monitoring, and communication.
  • Direct experience setting up and operating extrusion equipment.
  • Experience using ERP or manufacturing software systems such as IQMS.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and production documentation requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, communicate, and hear throughout the workday.
  • Ability to regularly move between floors and workstations.
  • Ability to frequently handle machine oils, lubricants, silicone, and latex materials.
  • Regular lifting and moving of up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequent lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform work requiring close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
  • Ability to work for extended periods while seated at a workstation or standing during production activities.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment, raw materials, lubricants, and production processes.
  • Work environment characteristics are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of the position.

Schedule

  • 2:00pm to 10:00pm Monday through Friday

Benefits

  • Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment. Thirty (30) hours worked per week must be averaged in order to maintain coverage. 401k enrollment is available per the Secure Act guidelines.#IND345
