About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer III to develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for complex 3-, 4-, 5-, and 7-axis machining equipment. The ideal candidate has strong ESPRIT and/or Mastercam experience and a background in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain CNC programs for complex parts and geometries.
- Develop toolpaths for multi-axis mills, lathes, Swiss-style lathes, and mill-turns.
- Optimize feeds, speeds, cycle times, and tool life.
- Select cutting tools, machining strategies, and sequences.
- Design custom fixtures and workholding as needed.
- Create setup sheets and manufacturing aids for the shop floor.
- Troubleshoot CNC programs and support proof-of-concept runs.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Machinists to improve processes and quality.
- Stay current with machining, tooling, and CNC technologies.
- Mentor less experienced employees.
- Follow AS9100 requirements and use Net-Inspect as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 7+ years of CNC programming experience, preferably in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.
- 7+ years of multi-axis programming experience using ESPRIT and/or Mastercam.
- Experience with Swiss-style lathes, mill-turns, multi-turret, and multi-axis equipment.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
- Proficient in shop math, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to read engineering specifications and procedures.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
Preferred
- Associate degree or certificate in CNC programming/machining.
- Aerospace or medical manufacturing experience.
- AS9100 environment experience.
- Net-Inspect experience.
Work Environment
Combination of computer-based programming and production-floor support. May involve standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs., with occasional heavier lifting. Exposure to machinery, noise, fumes, and chemicals may occur.
