ESTIMATED SALARY RANGE: $140K to $160K

STATUS: Full-Time

REPORTS TO: Production General Manager

FLSA: Exempt

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: QC/QA Supervisors and four QC

Technicians.

SUMMARY:

Develops, implements, and manages quality control and quality assurance systems to

ensure continuous production of quality products, that meet company, customers and

applicable regulatory requirements. Plans and directs activities related to meeting

quality standards of product. Recommends processes for continuous improvement in

order to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products. Plans and directs

activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality

standards. Manages Quality Management Systems, applicable NSF, UL, and other

third-party certification programs. Manages all IS0 9001 activities.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering,

Material Science or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Seven to ten years’ experience in quality control or quality assurance in a manufacturing

environment required. Including three to five years’ managerial experience required.

Experience in managing ISO 9001 systems and supporting or leading NSF, UL,

customers, or comparable third-party certifications audits is highly preferred. Experience

in plastics, polymer compounding, PVC compounding, or a closely related process-

manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

1. Ability to read complex defect data and trace their root cause in order to implement

corrective action.

2. Supports company Environmental, Health Safety (EHS) and quality initiatives and

ensure that all Quality Department activities are conducted in compliance with applicable

company environmental health and safety requirements.

3. Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills with ability to

effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

4. Proficient in time management with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

5. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and in other Microsoft Office 365 applications.

6. Ability to build a culture committed to high standards.

7. Ability to pay attention to details, keen observation to spot subtle flaws or process

inconsistencies before they escalate.

8. Ability to create and maintain a culture that embraces and promotes goal

attainment, teamwork, mutual respect, and trust.

9. Ability to train, guide teams, delegate tasks, promote and maintain a positive

relationship and positive communication between all team members.

10. Ability to identify, develop and implement solutions to a variety of complex problems.

11. Promote quality achievements and performance improvement throughout the

organization in collaboration with respected managers.

12. Capability to develop and monitor organizational KPI’s.

13. Skill to utilize lean manufacturing concepts and/or six sigma for project implementation.

14. Skill to drive personal accountability at every level of the organization.
