As a Manufacturing Process Engineer – CAD & Tooling, you translate engineering and architectural intent into detailed, production-ready plans. Your day blends hands-on measurement on the shop floor with precise 2D/3D AutoCAD modeling, cross-functional reviews, and vendor coordination for new tooling and equipment. You verify drawings meet industry standards, track issues through problem follow-up sheets, and support prototype pilot builds to prove out concepts.

A day in the role
  • Kick off by clarifying specifications and layout updates with engineers and stakeholders.
  • Draft and refine detailed technical drawings in AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Walk the floor to take physical measurements and convert them into precise layouts.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary reviews to align requirements across departments.
  • Open and maintain problem follow-up sheets, guiding activities to completion.
  • Place purchase orders for new tooling and equipment and follow up with suppliers.
  • Assist with prototype pilot build constructions, validating manufacturability.
What you'll do
  • Support engineering projects from concept through production readiness.
  • Develop technical drawings that become detailed build plans for products and structures.
  • Lead coordination of project reviews among internal teams and other stakeholders.
  • Use structured problem follow-up sheets to monitor actions and drive closure.
  • Back prototype pilot builds with practical, on-the-ground support.
  • Initiate and track purchase orders for tooling/equipment and manage vendor follow-ups.
  • Produce and check design drawings for accuracy and industry-standard compliance.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
  • Ability to interpret design sketches/specifications and convert them into technical drawings.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering practices and industry standards.
  • Capability to take physical measurements and translate them into layouts.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing tools and equipment.
Bonus points
  • Background in automotive/truck manufacturing.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
