Job Description

This role oversees the planning, coordination, execution, and financial performance of a $5 million plumbing package supporting a data center construction project in Claremont, North Carolina. The Plumbing Project Manager leads project cost control, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, and field coordination to ensure the work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This position serves as the primary point of contact between the client, general contractor, internal project teams, and field leadership, ensuring contract requirements and specifications are clearly understood and executed in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall planning, coordination, execution, and financial performance of a $5 million plumbing package on a data center project.
  • Report directly to the Project Executive and company ownership, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and performance.
  • Lead project cost control efforts, including tracking budgets, monitoring costs, and supporting financial forecasting.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules to ensure all plumbing activities are completed on time.
  • Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project specifications.
  • Manage subcontractors and coordinate their activities to support efficient and safe field execution.
  • Provide oversight and direction to plumbing foremen to ensure field work complies with contract documents, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Review, understand, and administer contract documents and specifications so field responsibilities are clearly assigned and executed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact among the company, client, general contractor, and internal project teams for all plumbing-related matters.
  • Manage jobsite documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and coordination items with the general contractor.
  • Attend meetings required by the general contractor or project team and represent the plumbing scope effectively.
  • Conduct weekly project meetings with plumbing foremen, maintain accurate meeting minutes, and distribute them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and approve overtime requests and workforce changes to ensure appropriate staffing and cost control.
  • Prepare, review, and submit monthly billings and pay applications in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain strong client communication and proactively support customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices on site in alignment with OSHA 30 requirements and company safety standards.

Essential Skills

  • Proven project management experience in commercial or industrial construction, with a focus on plumbing projects.
  • Hands-on experience managing commercial or industrial plumbing scopes, including multi-million-dollar plumbing packages.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control, including budget management, cost tracking, and financial performance monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage project schedules for complex construction projects.
  • Experience with procurement of materials and equipment for plumbing and related systems.
  • Ability to review, understand, and administer contract documents and specifications and translate them into field responsibilities.
  • Experience managing jobsite documentation and coordination items with general contractors, including RFIs and submittals.
  • Proven ability to conduct weekly project meetings with foremen and maintain accurate, detailed meeting minutes.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting monthly billings and pay applications.
  • Strong background in plumbing systems and plumbing/fire protection work on commercial or industrial projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification (required).
  • Ability to coordinate directly with large general contractors and multiple field leaders on complex projects.

  • Prior experience managing multi-million-dollar plumbing scopes on large commercial or industrial projects.
  • Experience working closely with multiple field leaders and foremen to align manpower and schedule needs.

Work Environment

This role is fully on-site in Claremont, North Carolina, supporting a data center construction project with a $5 million plumbing scope. The schedule is approximately 48 hours per week, reflecting a typical construction environment with extended workdays as needed to meet project milestones. You will work closely with general contractors, internal project teams, and field personnel in an active construction setting that emphasizes safety and compliance with OSHA 30 standards. The environment includes regular jobsite and coordination meetings, field walks, and interaction with foremen and subcontractors to ensure the plumbing scope is executed efficiently and safely. Per diem may be available for the right candidate based on client approval.

This is a Contract position based out of Conover, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
