Job Description
Job Title: General Production AssociateJob Description

This role supports a custom rubber compounding and mixing facility that has been delivering high-quality rubber compounds and services for over half a century. You will work in a hands-on, physically active production position, starting with palletizing and lacing rubber products and gradually cross-training in multiple areas of the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong track record of reliable attendance, a gogetter mentality, and a willingness to work in a dirty manufacturing environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Palletize rubber products by taking long strips of manufactured rubber from the production line and neatly weaving them onto pallets for shipment.
  • Organize rubber strips on pallets by weaving them back and forth and cross weaving multiple layers to create stable, well-structured pallets.
  • Start in the lacing role and demonstrate consistent performance, attention to detail, and reliability to qualify for cross-training opportunities.
  • Cross-train in batching by pulling ingredients and compounds and weighing them according to work orders to create rubber mixes.
  • Assist the mixer with preparing, loading, and overseeing rubber mixing operations as directed.
  • Unload the mixer and handle rubber materials safely so they can be cut into specified strips for further processing or shipment.
  • Perform general production and general labor tasks as assigned, including machine operation and material handling.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around production equipment and materials.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to complete daily production goals, even when working at individual stations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the constraints of a dirty production process.
Essential Skills
  • Previous production experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of great attendance, verified through references.
  • Willingness to work in a very dirty manufacturing environment involving rubber production.
  • Strong gogetter mentality with a proactive and motivated approach to work.
  • Ability to perform general labor and general production tasks, including palletizing and material handling.
  • Capability to work safely around machines, mixers, and other production equipment.
  • Attention to detail when weighing ingredients, organizing pallets, and following work orders.
  • Ability to work both independently at a station and collaboratively as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Forklift operation experience, especially sitdown propane forklifts, is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn forklift operation with potential to operate after being hired on directly.
  • Experience with machine operation in a production setting is beneficial.
  • Comfort working with repetitive tasks that require consistency and accuracy.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and move rubber strips, and perform manual palletizing.
  • Positive attitude toward cross-training and taking on additional responsibilities over time.
Why Work Here?

This opportunity offers a long-term career path in a stable, established manufacturing operation that has been in business for decades. You can start in an entry-level production role and grow your skills through structured cross-training in multiple areas of the rubber manufacturing process. Once hired on directly, you will gain access to a strong benefits package and the security of working for a company that values reliability, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a very dirty manufacturing facility due to the nature of rubber production. You will be exposed to rubber dust throughout the day, and it is expected that this dust will accumulate on your clothing by the end of each shift. The facility consists of three buildings, and you will typically work at an individual station while contributing as part of a broader team to accomplish daily production goals. The environment involves general production equipment, mixers, and palletizing areas, and may include exposure to forklifts and other material-handling machinery. Dress appropriately for a dirty, industrial setting, with suitable workwear that can withstand dust and heavy use, and follow all safety and protective equipment requirements provided on site.
