Verification Pharmacist

Houston, TX | 13-Week Temp-to-Perm | 1st Shift

We are currently seeking a Verification Pharmacist for a 13-week temp-to-perm opportunity in Houston. This position is ideal for a licensed Texas Pharmacist with prescription verification and/or compounding experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM

• Weekends: As needed

• Shift: 1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Perform final verification of compounded prescriptions before dispensing.

• Review orders for accuracy, dosing, interactions, patient information, formulation, and labeling.

• Resolve prescription discrepancies and medication-related issues.

• Work closely with pharmacy technicians and sterile/non-sterile compounding teams.

• Provide clinical support and guidance to pharmacy technicians.

• Maintain compliance with USP <795>, <797>, <800>, Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and HIPAA.

• Support medication safety and overall pharmacy quality standards.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License in good standing.

• Pharm.D. or B.S. in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school.

• 1+ year of pharmacist experience; 2+ years preferred.

• Prescription verification experience required.

• Compounding, closed-door, specialty, mail-order, or high-volume pharmacy experience preferred.

• Familiarity with USP <795>, <797>, and <800>.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting.

• Lifefile or similar pharmacy software experience is a plus.
