Forklift Operator

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler and Forklift Operator to join our team. This role involves coordinating the loading and unloading of materials and finished products with shipping and receiving departments. You will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to move materials around the work site, ensuring safe and efficient transport. The shift is from Monday to Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm, with mandatory overtime as required.

• Coordinate outgoing loads with the Shipping and Purchasing Departments.
• Coordinate the unloading of inbound freight with the Planning and Receiving Departments.
• Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
• Lubricate trucks, recharge batteries, fill fuel tanks, or replace liquefied gas tanks.
• Maintain warehouse and storage area part location integrity.
• Ensure all boxes, crates, and pallets are labeled with part numbers or SO numbers.
• Support all departments with material handling.
• Communicate with staff about part delivery to areas.
• Move NC parts to MRB quarantine area.
• Dispose of scrap weekly after MRB disposition is determined.
• Drive industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices to move products, equipment, or materials.
• Move levers and press pedals to drive trucks and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Position forks, lifting platforms, or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.
• Load, unload, and stack materials by raising and lowering lifting devices.
• Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Constantly update job knowledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Forklift operation with 2+ years of experience.
• Material handling.
• Inventory management.
• Shipping and receiving.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to perform filing and record-keeping tasks.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Well-organized with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.

This position is in an industrial setting where the temperature fluctuates with the weather. The work environment is similar to a shop, exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually loud, requiring warm clothing in winter and cooler clothing in summer.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FOREST GROVE, OR.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
