Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of multiple community associations in Lubbock, Texas. This role is responsible for keeping accounting records accurate, managing daily transactions, and producing timely financial reports that help leadership make informed decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong bookkeeping experience, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with care.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain complete and accurate ledger activity for several community accounts, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and classified.
• Process incoming invoices, verify approvals, and issue vendor payments within established timelines.
• Apply homeowner payments, post assessments and related charges, and keep receivable records current.
• Track overdue homeowner balances, prepare aging and collection reporting, and coordinate follow-up actions when needed.
• Complete monthly reconciliations for operating bank accounts, reserve funds, and investment accounts to confirm accuracy.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow summaries, and board meeting packages.
• Support the annual budgeting process, assist with audit and tax preparation activities, and help compile required 1099 documentation.
• Respond to account-related questions from homeowners, property managers, and board members while maintaining organized financial records and strict confidentiality.• At least 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with community association or property management finance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with homeowners, vendors, management, and board representatives.
• Ability to meet deadlines, protect confidential information, and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
