Position Summary

CANUSA EPC is seeking an experiencedSenior Process Engineer to join our growing Denver team.

This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys solving complex process challenges and contributing to the successful execution of projects in the oil and gas industry. You will work closely with clients, project teams, vendors, and operations personnel to develop innovative engineering solutions while supporting projects from concept through detailed design and execution.

The Senior Process Engineer's primary responsibility is to provide process engineering expertise throughout project development and execution. The successful candidate will independently perform engineering analysis, develop technical deliverables, support multidisciplinary project teams, and interface directly with clients and vendors.

Occasional travel to customer sites, project locations, training events, and industry meetings may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of process engineering experience in oil & gas, natural gas processing, LNG, NGL, petrochemical, or related industries.
  • PE license preferred but not required. Candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with cryogenic, refrigeration, amine treating, and dehydration systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of process design principles and engineering analysis.
  • Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS and/or BR&E ProMax.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including API, ASME, and DOT requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one for occasional travel within North America.

Responsibilities

  • Develop process engineering studies, calculations, basis of design documents, and technical reports.
  • Develop and maintain process simulation models using HYSYS, ProMax, or similar software.
  • Prepare and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat & Material Balances (HMBs), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Perform pressure relief system calculations, PSV sizing, and relief header analysis.
  • Develop equipment sizing calculations and equipment specifications.
  • Review vendor documentation for technical compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOPs, and design review meetings.
  • Collaborate with project managers, discipline engineers, clients, vendors, and operations personnel throughout project execution.
  • Interface directly with customer engineering, operations, and project teams.
  • Conduct field visits and site surveys to gather and validate engineering data.
  • Support proposal development, engineering estimates, and project planning activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge-sharing support to junior and intermediate engineers as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with CANUSA EPC safety, quality, and engineering standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in company and department meetings as required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, gather and analyze data, establish facts, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical engineering solutions.
