What You'll Do

As a Mechanical Pipe Superintendent, you'll oversee piping and welding operations while ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Lead Field Operations

  • Manage piping and welding activities across commercial and industrial construction projects
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and production schedules
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Foremen, and field leadership teams to achieve project objectives
  • Monitor labor productivity, progress, and project milestones
  • Support planning efforts to ensure efficient project execution

Ensure Quality & Technical Excellence

  • Review project drawings, specifications, isometrics, weld maps, and subcontractor scopes
  • Ensure installations comply with project requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes
  • Monitor welding procedures, testing requirements, inspections, and quality control processes
  • Troubleshoot installation challenges and provide technical guidance to field teams
  • Maintain a strong focus on craftsmanship and quality workmanship

Champion Safety

  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety on every project
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and OSHA standards
  • Conduct field audits, inspections, and jobsite visits
  • Proactively identify and address potential hazards before they impact project operations

Develop and Mentor Teams

  • Lead, mentor, and support Foremen, Pipefitters, Welders, and emerging field leaders
  • Participate in apprenticeship and workforce development initiatives
  • Help identify training opportunities that strengthen team capabilities
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of commercial or industrial piping and welding experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, or similar role
  • Current 6G Welding Certification
  • Advanced knowledge of stick and MIG welding processes
  • Strong understanding of mechanical piping systems and installation methods
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, specifications, and weld maps
  • Proven ability to lead crews, coordinate multiple priorities, and maintain productivity
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on large-scale industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, data center, mission-critical, or advanced process piping projects
  • Knowledge of welding procedures, NDE requirements, and quality assurance practices
  • Experience in design-build construction environments
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and develop field personnel
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
