Day in the Life

Morning kicks off with a performance huddlereviewing safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You’ll walk the floor (Gemba), clear roadblocks, and line up the day’s work. From there, you’ll prioritize and dispatch work orders, approve time and service documentation, and check inventory and van readiness. You’ll stop by a customer site, verify quality in the field, and coach a tech through a root-cause problem. Before the day is done, you’ll run a quick team meeting, log actions in our service platform, and identify training opportunities to help your technicians advance.

What You’ll Own
  • Lead our site-level lean management cadence: daily huddles, Gemba walks, structured problem-solving, and leader standard work.
  • Track SQDC metrics to elevate customer satisfaction and improve profitability.
  • Facilitate technician meetings; escalate issues to the Service Manager or centralized support when needed.
  • Visit customers and accompany techs periodically to verify workmanship and follow up on quality.
  • Champion safety and ensure adherence to company policies and best practices.
  • Approve timesheets and work orders; maintain accurate service and parts records within our platform.
  • Dispatch, prioritize, and balance workload across resources to meet commitments.
  • Hold standards for workmanship; ensure service vans are clean, professional, and properly stocked.
  • Own the preventive maintenance (PM) program to meet company completion targets.
  • Develop people: complete reviews, deliver coaching, support promotions, and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Assist with staffing decisions and map out technician career paths.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Leadership & Scope

This position supervises a team of technicians and plays a central role in service operations across shop and field environments.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 2–4 years of related experience/trainingor an equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Documented leadership success and a track record of results.
  • Strong written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Comfort solving practical problems and managing concrete variables in dynamic settings.
  • Background in material handling or similar service-centric industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with lean/continuous improvement practices is a plus.
Tools & Tech

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Willingness to learn and use systems such as Salesforce, SAP, and ServiceMax.

Physical & Environmental Snapshot

You’ll alternate between standing, walking, reaching, and hearing/speakingfrequently sitting as well. Expect to regularly move items up to 25 lbs. Vision needs include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Depending on site location, you may encounter moving mechanical equipment; occasional heights; fumes/airborne particles; outdoor weather; vibration; wet/humid areas; chemicals; extreme temperatures; and potential electrical exposure. Some environments can be loud at times.
