LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established organization to identify an experienced
Benefits Manager to lead the administration and management of employee benefit programs.
This is a highly visible, hands-on opportunity for a benefits professional who enjoys taking ownership of programs, solving problems, and serving as the internal subject matter expert. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day benefits administration, compliance, retirement programs, open enrollment, audits, and ongoing process improvements while partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external benefit partners. This position offers a
hybrid schedule with four days on-site across two Portland-area locations and one remote day per week . Annual compensation is
$75K-$80K, DOE . The organization also offers an excellent PTO package, paid holidays and holiday closures, and retirement benefits.
Responsibilities: - Serve as the organization's primary subject matter expert for employee benefits.
- Manage day-to-day administration of health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs.
- Oversee benefits enrollment, eligibility, employee changes, and ongoing plan administration.
- Coordinate and support annual open enrollment activities.
- Manage retirement plan administration, including a 403(b) plan.
- Support required benefits audits, compliance activities, nondiscrimination testing, and reporting.
- Review existing benefits processes and identify opportunities to improve compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Research and resolve complex employee benefit questions and escalated issues.
- Partner closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, HRIS, benefit vendors, brokers, and other external partners.
- Manage benefits-related projects and initiatives from planning through implementation.
- Support benefits activities associated with HRIS and systems changes.
- Maintain accurate benefits documentation, processes, and records.
- Proactively identify issues, develop solutions, and drive projects forward with limited oversight.
- Support a benefits-eligible employee population of approximately 300+ employees.
Qualifications: - 5+ years of progressive, hands-on employee benefits administration experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience independently managing multiple facets of employee benefits.
- Strong knowledge of health and welfare plans, retirement programs, open enrollment, and benefits compliance.
- Experience supporting benefits audits, testing, and regulatory requirements strongly preferred.
- Experience serving as a benefits subject matter expert or primary benefits resource within an organization.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong critical-thinking, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and identify solutions without requiring significant day-to-day direction.
- Comfortable working within a small, collaborative HR team and navigating an evolving environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and relationship-building skills.

Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
