Job Summary
The Configuration Analyst II supports the accuracy and integrity of product configuration data across product platforms. The role develops and maintains variant configuration data, machine model structures, configuration rules, and engineering data while supporting product changes, configuration audits, and data quality initiatives.
The position works independently with limited supervision and collaborates closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Parts & Service, and other business teams to ensure engineering design logic aligns with order-code logic and the correct machines are built for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain base machines, cost representations, experimental-build configurations, and machine variations.
- Develop and maintain product structures, configuration rules, BOMs, specifications, and related engineering data.
- Perform configuration audits to ensure data accuracy, logic integrity, and correct machine models.
- Implement engineering requirements, standards, and product changes within relevant systems.
- Support Engineering Change Management processes and approval workflows.
- Troubleshoot configuration issues that may impact product builds.
- Create and maintain supporting 3D CAD visualizations.
- Gather business requirements through interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into appropriate system and configuration solutions.
- Conduct data research and analyze trends using primary data sources and business intelligence tools.
- Support data collection, architecture, integrity, quality, and accuracy.
- Conduct gap analysis between current and future states to identify improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to engineering solutions and feasibility-testing approaches.
- Support manufacturing and materials process improvements while considering cost and quality requirements.
- Develop project plans, sequence tasks, and support implementation activities.
- Test, evaluate, and improve engineering outcomes.
- Produce technical engineering specifications and related documentation.
- Provide guidance, training, and technical support to team members.
- Participate in global initiatives and continuous improvement efforts focused on data quality and process efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in: Engineering, Technology, Business, Mechanical Engineering Or a related field
- Knowledge of product configuration, BOMs, specifications, and engineering data management.
- Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems and workflow tools.
- Understanding of engineering change management processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
- Ability to analyze data, business requirements, processes, and system changes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP, PTC Windchill, Creo Parametric, iPPE, or similar systems.
- Knowledge of variant configuration.
- Familiarity with cProjects, PPM, and workflow management tools.
- Agricultural product knowledge.
- Experience with process improvement and global collaboration.
- Experience with 3D CAD and product configuration visualization.
