Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler safely and efficiently moves products throughout the warehouse using a wave rider and other material handling equipment. The role uses RF scanners to process product movements, supports order picking and packing activities, and helps maintain accurate inventory levels in a clean, organized, and climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a wave rider to move products safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse.
  • Use RF scanners to process product movements, including receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping activities.
  • Perform order picking according to pick lists or system instructions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of orders.
  • Assist with packing orders, including verifying items, packaging products securely, and preparing shipments for dispatch.
  • Use pallet jacks to move pallets and materials as needed to support daily operations.
  • Support inventory control by scanning, counting, and verifying product quantities and locations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with warehouse procedures.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and equipment operating procedures to prevent accidents and product damage.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity and accuracy goals.
  • Report any equipment issues, product discrepancies, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate contact.

Essential Skills

  • Experience operating a wave rider or forklift in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Proficiency using RF scanners to track and process product movements.
  • Hands-on experience with order picking and packing processes.
  • Ability to use pallet jacks to move pallets and materials safely.
  • Familiarity with basic inventory processes such as counting, scanning, and verifying stock.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and inventory records.
  • Ability to work on a set schedule during first shift hours.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Comfort working with technology such as RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet operational goals.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent warehouse operations.

Work Environment

You will regularly use a wave rider, RF scanners, pallet jacks, and other standard warehouse equipment. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, providing a consistent and structured setting for daily operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
