Reports To: Intensive Residential Service Supervisor

About the Role

As an Intensive Support Professional (ISP) in our Intensive Residential Service Home (IRSH) program, you will play a vital role in supporting adults living with severe mental illness and co-occurring conditions. Working in one of the highest levels of community-based care, you will provide person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused direct support to help clients build daily living skills, regulate emotions, manage crisis situations, and work toward greater independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Care & Skill-Building: Assist clients with daily living skills, emotional regulation, medication administration, and household chores in a clean, safe residential environment.
  • Crisis Intervention & De-escalation: Use trauma-informed techniques, non-aversive behavior strategies, and motivational interviewing to support clients during mental health crises and emotional distress.
  • Supervision & Safety: Maintain awake, alert, and proactive supervision in line with IRSH safety protocols and individual crisis plans.
  • Community Integration & Transport: Support clients on community outings, errands, and medical appointments, providing safe transportation as needed.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Complete accurate service logs, incident reports, and goal-tracking notes in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain open communication with supervisors, interdisciplinary teams, and external healthcare providers to ensure seamless client care.

Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required (associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred).
  • Experience: 1 year prior experience working in mental health, residential care, or crisis intervention is required.
  • Driver’s License & Transport: Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and valid auto insurance required for client transportation.
  • Tech Skills: Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office 365, electronic documentation/EHR systems).
  • Certifications & Training: Willingness to complete specialized mental health, medication administration, and trauma-informed care trainings upon hire.
  • Shift Availability: Ability to remain awake and alert during shifts, with flexibility for weekends, holidays, or schedule adjustments based on program needs.
